Community Acupuncture

What is Community Acupuncture?
Community acupuncture is acupuncture that is done in a community setting. People receiving the acupuncture share one large treatment room. The naturopathic doctor providing the treatment will go from person-to-person, allowing for up to 6 people to be seen simultaneously. Receiving treatment in the same space as others allows for costs to be kept low. As well, it provides you with the opportunity to come in with a friend or family member; and it can add comfort as you meditate with others around you.

What Can I Expect?
Community Acupuncture is a walk-in, first come, first served system. If it is your first visit, there will be some paperwork to fill out. The Naturopathic Doctor providing the treatment will spend time with you, going over health goals and asking questions to ensure you receive the care you require. You will then be shown to your treatment space and you can make yourself comfortable on a yoga mat where you will be treated. Then, needles will be inserted. You are then able to quietly relax while your neighbour is treated. Needles usually stay inserted anywhere from 15-30 minutes. You are welcome to stay and relax as long as you like.

What does it Cost?
Treatments are done on a sliding-scale basis: anywhere between $20-$40. We will never ask for any proof of financial status. There is the option to pay via cash, debit, or credit. Receipts are issued, and treatments are often covered by extended health insurance.
